Our Story

The "High Five Program" was born in 2013 out of sheer necessity.
In my travels to help special needs families and educators in
underprivileged countries, I found myself overwhelmed with
questions on how to help the kids with behavior struggles,
transitions to non-preferred tasks and socialization issues.

The Need

The adults were feeling defeated without resources to pay
for specialized services. The frustration was evident and
the problematic behaviors were escalating. I needed a rescue plan.

I combined some relevant information about the sensory system,
developmental milestones and positive behavior approach.
I then added strategies and techniques that I have been using
with my patients and my own children for the past 25 yrs.

The feedback on the first few workshop presentations were
encouraging. The parents now felt that they had a better
understanding of how the sensory system impacted the
development and the behavior. Time and time again after
a presentation parents and educators would approach me
with a big smile feeling confident, telling me that now they had
a simple yet efficient bag of tricks to help their children.

empowered, the educators feel validated, the kids make
progress and my heart is content… I am super excited to
continue with this journey wherever it takes me.
